Air Duct Cleaning
WHY DO YOUR AIR DUCTS NEED CLEANING, AND HOW OFTEN?
Your air ducts should be cleaned for the same reason that your home or business needs cleaning. What if your home had not been cleaned for three to five years? Even homeowners that keep very clean homes and they cannot believe what is commonly found in HVAC systems.
It is recommended that HVAC systems be cleaned every two to five years. Because ductwork is hidden it is easy to not realize the pollutants that build up over time that start to contaminate the air.
Some of the reasons the EPA recommends professional air duct cleaning:
Construction debris from renovations or a new home build
Time - over time your ducts accumulate hair, skin cells, dust and other contaminants that build up
Animal infestations - rodents, bugs, spider webs, etc.
Mold if there is any visible growth inside the ducts
Illness such as allergies or any other breathing issues

Why do your Air Ducts need cleaning, and How Often?
Your air ducts should be cleaned for the same reason that your home or business needs cleaning. What if your home had not been cleaned for three to five years? Even homeowners that keep very clean homes and they cannot believe what is commonly found in HVAC systems. It is recommended that HVAC systems be cleaned every two to five years. How should a residential HVAC system be cleaned, and what kind of equipment should be used?
The most effective way to clean air ducts and ventilation systems is to use a vacuum system that is strong enough to remove all the harmful debris that has accumulated in the HVAC system. The most powerful vacuum systems are Negative air systems that produce a tremendous amount of CFM or airflow. While the vacuum draws air through your system, various devices are inserted into the ducts to dislodge the debris that is contaminating your system. These devices include whips, brushes, and “skipper balls”, etc., most of which are powered by compressed air of up to 200 psi. In some cases, it may not be practical to use our gas powered system like in a high- rise apartment building or a home or business that does not have any exposed ductwork so we may bring a powerful portable unit right to the system.
What Are the health benefits from air duct cleaning?
Harmful contaminants circulate threw your air ducts where warmth, darkness and humidity create a breeding ground for these contaminants. Your HVAC system will continue to disperse these contaminants back into the air that you breathe. The removal of such contaminants from the HVAC system and home should be considered as the first step in an overall plan to improve your indoor air quality.
A five year study conducted by the EPA showed that indoor air pollutant levels exceed outdoor levels by 200 to 500 percent finding hazardous contaminants, such as mold spores, fungi, bacteria, pollen, animal dander, etc. have the potential to affect your health.
Will Air Duct cleaning result better efficiency and lower energy bills?
The EPA and Louisiana State University’s studies have shown that removal of debris that builds up inside you air duct systems can improve air flow up to 20% or more so your system should not have to run as long to do the job it was designed to do. Running your system less will reduce energy bills.
Mario is extremely professional. We had our dryer ducts cleaned. I was so impressed by the care he gave my home . He made sure that I understood exactly what was going to be happening how he was going to clean the ducts . He was very clean very and neat .
Extremely knowledgeable, professional, courteous, they exceeded my expectations!!! Love the Dirt Wrangler!
Mario does an awesome job. We have used him several times and have always been very happy with the results. He is honest and his prices are very good!
An addition to my review of The Dirt Wrangler from last month….Now that we have entered the colder months, for the first time in years, our heat is actually warming our upper level. We had always thought that our duct system was messed up and would crank up our heat. Ends up that we just needed a good old fashioned duct cleaning all along! We are saving money on our gas bills, keeping our thermostat lower and noticed a HUGE difference with our allergies. Thank you Mario DiGiovanni!
